Lock Out/Tag Out Procedures

 

This practical workshop ensures that all participants understand that every workplace in which confined space entry, hot mechanical work, live electrical work, mechancial and excavations are carried out should have a comprehensive lockout/Tagout program. Must be effective for the type of work being performed. The control of energy can be achieved anywhere after it has been released. This is accomplished by placing barriers that neutralize it before it causes injuries or harm. This course covers all forms of energy.

 

Course Objectives 

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will become more aware of Lock Out needs, will understand related sections of the Act and regulations and will be able to put into practice their newly acquired skills.

  1. Lock Out Tag Out information
  2. Locating potential hazard sites
  3. Evaluating types of energy
  4. Identify possible control options
  5. Develop an effective control activity
  6. Writing the procedures
  7. Training your staff
  8. Evaluating the effectiveness of your system.

 

Note: This course is designed to be delivered in 4 to 5 hours depending on site specific needs.  

Certificates

Each participant will be provided with a Certificate of Participation and a copy of the training material utilized.
